Overview:

M-Tech is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support a collaborative Government/Contractor team developing systems engineering processes for next generation weapons systems.  This position will require interface and collaboration with Senior DoD personnel, program managers from multiple DoD primes, and other systems engineers to interpret requirements and develop the engineering processes necessary to capture, track and provide life cycle management of the system requirements. The selected candidate will support the Systems Engineering and Systems Integration and Test working groups in the areas of Data/Information Management, Risk/Opportunity Management, System Requirements Decomposition, System Level Test and Verification, and System Level Interface Management.

Candidates should possess:

• Understanding of DoD Systems Engineering processes and requirements.

• Experience with Requirements analysis and decomposition.

• Experience with and understanding of system modeling and analysis

• Familiarity with Model-Based Engineering (MBE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and procedures

• Ability to provide technical and programmatic direction on the development, integration and use of MBE and MBSE models.

• Ability to mentor the development of MBE and MBSE systems engineers

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions

• Knowledge and experience with the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile program and mission (desired).

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Ability to work as a team player who understands the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and open communication, including a willingness to occasionally work in a pair-programming environment

 

Functions of the Job

• Participate in all phases of the product specification, analysis, design, verification and validation.

• Help develop and ensure system requirements validation and verification methods are captured.

• Support leadership in the development of an integrated process for use-case development, as well as development of all supporting documentation.

• Support development and review of Program Plans: Data/Information Management Plan, Program Plan, Systems engineering Plan, Configuration Management Plan, System Test and Verification Plan, Risk and Opportunities Plan.

• Support the development of software architecture documents.

 

Qualifications

Required education and experience

• Bachelors and five (5) years or more systems engineering experience; or Masters and three (3) years or more systems engineering experience

• 5+ years Systems Engineering

 

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with the Department of Defense

• Understanding of military weapon system development or operations

• Experience implementing systems engineering plans or MBE processes
